Abstract

The investigation was carried out in all municipalities of Guantánamo province with the objective of diagnosing the perception of technological risks while handling dangerous substances, throughout the estimation of risk to facilitate the decision making by the Defense Council in each territory. There were included 10 installations that store, manipulate or process chemical dangerous substances like oils, ammoniacal and fertilizers. There were applied instruments to collect information such as the inquiry; the data were entered using the SPSS Data Entry version 4.0 and processed with SPSS 11.5 for Windows. In Guantánamo province, the perception before Scape of Toxic Gases, Fires and Explosions lies on Group II (Medium Perception); Imías, San Antonio del Sur and Manuel Tames show the lowest values of perception.
