Sugar cane growing evaluation under drought conditions at Unidad Empresarial de Base “López – Peña in Holguín.

Abstract

The research was carried out with the objective of evaluating the sugar level response of new sugar cane raisers at Unidad Empresarial de Base “López – Peña in Holguín. To achieve this purpose an experimental field was established with the evaluation of 12 raisers and two witnesses under drought conditions. The harvest variables (percentage of pol in cane, tons of cane per hectare and tons of pol per hectare) as well as the phytopathological behavior in natural conditions were evaluated during three periods. An analysis of individual variance by stumps was developed with a model of fixed effects, the Tukey's docim (p?0.05) were applied for the multiple comparison of levels when there were significant differences, and it was possible to determine the raisers with the best sugar level response which were also used to settle the economic effect, and they were finally recommended to be used at this production center.
