Familiar groups of agronomical production and local development in El Salvador Municipality.

Abstract

The municipal procuration taking as point of departure the integral development plans is essential, mainly in those municipalities in which the permanence and stability in the countryside is of a paramount importance since agriculture constitutes the principal economical activity. In El Salvador municipality, Guantánamo province there can be found familiar gropus that have overcome the adversities and guarantee their link with the production of foods. Thus, the following work evaluates the presence of such familiar groups associated to Credit and Services Cooperatives in El Savador municipality, as subjects of the local development and object of study of the University. By means of interviews to experts, groups and individuals as well as the analysis of documents and statistics, it has been confirmed that the presence of these groups is relevant concerning number and participation in the production of food, an element that is not always pointed out in official documents.
