Abstract

The objective was to elaborate a characterization with five stages going from the origin, institutionalization, diversification, improvement and updating of the agricultural education. The evolutional study in each of these stages was guided by the following criteria: educational institutions existence, agricultural education treatment in the curriculum, the agricultural, social and historical context to produce food for animal husbandry use; and the sustainability of food production to be used in animal husbandry. The pertinence of the agricultural education to produce food to be used in animal husbandry become established when it is possible achieving to identify a group of tendencies which evidence the necessity to continues deepen inside on this study and the improvement of the Veterinary Zootechny technical student, and so achieve an increase in quality and quantity of milk, meat, and eggs to the society, applying sustainable technologies.
