Evaluation of sugar cane cultivars to the South of Holguin province, Cuba.

Abstract

The study was developed in two places of Holguin, with the objectives of to evaluate the answer of a group of sugar cane cultivars under conditions of drought stress, and to define those of better agronomic and phytopathologic behavior for each place in study. For it, field experiments were settled down, and they were made three crops; the phytopathologic behavior was evaluated before the rust and coal in natural conditions and the crop variables: ton cane/ha, % pol cane and ton pol/ha; were carried out variance analysis and multiple comparison of mean when the differences were significant, analysis multivariate was also made (AMMI). For their integral behavior it is recommended to increase in Urbano Noris the cultivars C86-156 and C90-317 and in Cristino Naranjo the cultivars C90-317 and B78505.
