Abstract

The work constitutes a contribution to the communities' strengthening of the environmental education, where took effect “Trees for life†initiative. They were selected 20 schools of the primary education at three municipalities of Guantanamo’s Semiarid Region for it. Their students plant a tree in empty spaces of their same or at his house's patio, parallel to this it was developed a systematic job of environmental education, where each one of them was main character of care and evaluation in the progress of his plant. The used procedures are noted for his consistency, the easy application and the integralidad of the educational work as from the planting of trees. They attained interesting results with regard to this matter, between the ones that find the formation of moral values and take from conscience in youths, the formation of a culture toward care and the protection of nature, as well as a modest increment of the forested surface at the territory.
