Abstract

The multimedia was designed with higher plant species represented in different geographic areas of the mountainous massif Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa, with the aim of contributing to knowledge and sustainable use of flora; and count with a tool that facilitates the identification of species. The multimedia contains information for each floral species found at the studied sites, which includes taxonomic information (scientific name, common names and family) of each plant, detailed botanical description, details of its habitat and distribution, as well as its traditional uses in cases that possess with which elements are comprised of ethnobotanist. Also they are included images of each species in those considered the criteria for herbarium specimens; namely, images of leaves on the top and the underside, flowers and/or fruits, seeds, among others. The multimedia has 70 floral species belonging to 36 botanical families.
