Abstract

The work was carried out in the Mountain Development Center in the period January - June 2015, with the objective of diagnosing the biodiversity of existent fauna in the towns of The Cuabita, Saburen, La Turbina and Los Cañambuses of the Municipality of Yateras, which threw the existence of 48 species of birds and 334 copies belonging to 15 orders and 24 families, being the order Passeriformes the most representative and the families Anotidae and Parulidae. The biggest absolute and relative abundance was found in the Toti, the mollusks were represented by 4 species and 445 copies, the represented better species was Corida alauda with 150 copies and the less represented Zacrysia sp (Dives otroviolaceus), while the amphibians and reptiles for 7 and 10 species respectively, where Anolis porcatus, Anolis sagrey, and Alsophis cantherigerus were the most abundant inside the class reptiles and in the amphibious Usteopilus septentrionolis.
