Abstract

In order to evaluate the effect of 7 substrates on the germination of the seeds, the survival, the height of the seedling and the stem diameter of Moringa oleifera seedling, an experiment was conducted at Xangongo forestall nursery in Ombadja municipality, Angola, from December 2013 to April 2014. The design used was at random block with (four) 4 repetitions. The characteristics of the seedlings under the effect of the substrates were described: enriched soil plus cattle manure (3:1, 5:1, 7:1), enriched soil plus goat manure (3:1, 5:1, 7:1) and enriched soil at 100 %. The effect of the substrates on Moringa presented a 100 % of germination of the seeds and survival of the seedlings. The eruption of the seeds occurred within the 6th and 8th days after planting, except the seeds on the enriched soil (control). The best results in the growing and seedling quality were observed in the combinations of enriched soil (SE) plus manure.
