Environmental education in Sagua de Tanamo communities mountain, in Holguin province.

Abstract

The present work is an approach to the paper of the environmental education in community life of two mountain communities of Sagua de Tánamo municipality, in Holguín province, Cuba. The work characterizes the community infrastructure of both communities and analyzes the relationship of the environmental education with such social facts as education, health, emigration, and the woman's and youths situation. It points out the deficiencies that prevent that the environmental education is articulated in a harmonic way with the community life and identifies the emigration as the main cause so that this happens. Lastly, it recognizes actions that spread to place the environmental thing in the center of the community development, mainly those that have to do with the creation of capacities endogenous to eliminate or to mitigate environmental impacts, and to the articulation of the same ones in a front that conceives to the communities as a whole.
