Abstract

The work was conducted at five locations Toa Basin, belonging to the municipality Yateras, Guantanamo province, in the period febrero/13 - febrero/14, in order to inventory the species of molluscs in each of the localities. To study the malacofauna square 5m x 5m plots for tree species were conducted in walls 1m x 1m x 0.5 m and 0.5 m for species litter. Sampling was conducted between the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.. Being reported a total of 14 species of molluscs, located in eight families and four orders, where the town of Bernardo reached the highest number of species. The families were mostly represented Camaenidae and Cepolidae. Instead the town of La Carolina showed the lowest number of species and families behaved similarly except that Polygyxidae family came with an invasive species.
