Abstract

Dieffenbachia picta is an ornamental aroid of foliage with high commercial value.  In order to achieving a successful in vitro propagation, some growth regulators such as 2ip, IAA, TDZ, PBZ and BAP were evaluated in the multiplication phase. Shoots obtained from inactive axilary buds were used as explants. The number of shoots and multiplication rate were determined in different subcultures. As result of the propagation process vigorous rooted shoots were obtained ready to be transferred to ex vitro conditions.
