Abstract

Agricultural activity provides food resources which satisfy social demands. This work offers basic information about the characteristics of cocoa cultivation. This study was carried out based on the review of various documentary sources. Detailed information is offered about cultivation of cocoa in Cuba, where the Eastern region of the country releases the activity. The work describes the different varieties produced in Cuba, their cultivation methods. The pests which affect them, among other details that allow the reader to have a primary idea about the most necessary details to start cocoa production.
