Abstract

Hail falling is presented as one of the manifestations of severity within the severe local storms that occur in Cuba, Guantanamo is not exempted from the damage they may cause; Its spatial and temporal behavior is determined during the period 1980 – 2023. The data were duly processed by the Microsoft Office Access application, from the files of severe local storm reports from the Guantánamo Provincial Meteorological Center. For the study, the years, months of highest and lowest incidence were analyzed, as well as the analysis of the average time of onset of the same. The results show that the greatest number of reports per year corresponds to 2014 and 2015, in addition to the fact that the greatest occurrence of this severe event occurs between the months of May and June, most frequently between 14:00-15:00 hours; Yateras, Guantánamo and El Salvador being the most affected municipalities.
