Abstract

This paper presents a load study carried out in the electrical services of the University of Guantánamo with the objective of knowing the behavior of the main variables that characterize it and proposing improvements to improve them. As a result of the analysis carried out, the replacement of the oversized transformers is proposed, the improvement of the power factor of the installation as well as the use of Renewable Energy Sources such as photovoltaic panels with the aim of changing the energy consumption matrix, thereby contributing to the country's economic and social development plan for the year 2030. This study and the implementation of the proposals will have an impact on the environment in the future, since it will achieve a reduction in the emission of greenhouse gases and economic benefits since electricity billing will be reduced by a significant amount.
