Abstract

With the objective of evaluating the population fluctuation of Bemisia tabaci in the tomato crop (S. lycopersicum L.), the research was carried out in the Cooperative of Credits and Services (CCS) Lino de las Mercedes Alvarez, located in Santa Maria, Guantanamo, during the period January-April 2021. In the study, the levels of incidence of B. tabaci were determined, for which the signaling methodology proposed by INISAV (2000) was used. For the sampling, the field was crossed diagonally and in a zigzag pattern, selecting a total of 25 plants, to which the insect-species count per sampling was carried out. In the case of bioregulators, the total number of individuals per plant was counted. The statistical analysis used the STATGRAPHICS Version 5.1 package. The result showed that the highest population of insects in the first three samplings, with a tendency to decrease the populations of B. tabaci as the predator populations increased.
