Distribución espacial de las tormentas locales severas en la provincia Guantánamo, periodo 1980-2021

Abstract

The objective of the research is to represent through maps the spatial distribution of severe local storms in the province of Guantánamo, in the period 1980-2020, for which the reports in this database of the Prognosis Group of the Provincial Center of Meteorology were compiled, organized and processed; The geographic coordinates of each locality where there were reports of severe local storms were included, organized in Office Excel format to be processed with Quantum Gis, whose result is shown with the output of the different maps that represent the general spatial distribution of severe local storms and by severity event in the province, being of great practical importance since the knowledge of the areas where these severe events are more frequent constitutes a territorial evaluation tool for civil defense in order to mitigate the disasters that usually occur.
