This work was carried out in areas
belonging to producers of the Luis A. Carbó
Agricultural Production Cooperative (CCS)
in the Limonar de Monte Ruz People's
Council, with an inventory of all grain
species of traditional crops present in the
areas with the objective of prospecting and

tradicionales de frijol caballero (Phaseolus
lunatus L) el cultivar caballero blanco,

Frijol diablito [Vigna umbellata (Thunb)
Ohwi & Ohashi], frijol gandul (Cajanus
cajan L Hunth),variedad negro y cremita
además de una variedad de frijol carita de
enredadera y un frijol verde olivo o mungo (
Vigna radiata) , con potencial para la

black and cream varieties; as well as a
variety of vine-grown black bean and an
olive bean or mung bean (Vigna radiata),
all with potential for food production. All
these species are a fundamental part of the
diet of the mountain inhabitants, cultivated
since ancient times as part of the culinary
traditions of our mountain people.
